3 Colorado universities singled out for higher education efforts

With college students back in class now, it is a good time to recognize all that Colorado universities have to offer.

Recently, Gov. Jared Polis celebrated Colorado institutions of higher education for being recognized among the top 400 universities in the world according to US News and World Report.

University of Colorado Boulder (No. 105), University of Colorado Anschutz (No. 193), and Colorado State University (No. 347) scored in the top 400.

Colorado’s six million people mean that the state has .07% of the global population, and with three of the 400 top universities, Colorado is home to .75% of the top universities, more than ten times the expected amount of top universities based on our population.

“Colorado is a leader nationally in higher education, and I am thrilled to see Colorado universities being recognized on the world stage,” Polis said. “Education is our top priority in Colorado. From early childhood education, after-school initiatives, apprenticeships, and more, we are now creating a more streamlined system that better supports students, educators, and families throughout their academic journey. Colorado is number one in education, and we look forward to building on our successes to expand educational opportunities, grow our economy, and support the workforce needed to fill the jobs of the future, and our three universities in the top 400 globally are part of how we can increase opportunities for learners.”
